Daniel Heaysman, also known as "Hayz" online, is a British gaming content creator with over six years of experience in the industry. He's a FPS specialist, with a love for RPG and MMO games. During his career he has been signed as a Professional PUBG player, analyst and commentator.
I have worked with Daniel back in 2016 to create his then stream graphics, and in late 2020 we started out on a new project to completely build a new identity and reposition his stream, and brand, at the forefront of the content creation industry.
In 2020, Daniel and myself sat down and talked about how we could update his brand, and at the time we were looking at producing concepts for his merchandise, which lead to a production of a stencil of "HAYZ".
From both of our love for the stencil we decided that it'd make a pretty cool wordmark for his entire brand, which would coincide with his merchandise launch.
While the project was split into segments to allow for project flexibility, we knew that we wanted to create a cohesive brand, one that would span across not only Twitch but YouTube, Twitter, TikTok, etc.
We created a strong brand style which could be replicated and reproduced for different mediums; Banners, social graphics, motion graphics, and such like.
A core part of the project was to create a modern and industry leading image, with this in mind we focused on creating a gameplay focused graphics kit. No full screen, eye screaming alerts, just a simple compact information bar for supporters of the channel.
Integrated with StreamElements we created a information bar which would show recent information such as; Recent Subscriber, Recent Donor and Recent Bits. Along with this the alerts are integrated directly into the bar, with no additional alerts floating around the screen to take away from the gameplay or content.
Various Alerts produced for HayZ - Supporter (Small, Medium, Large, Mega), Raid and Subscription (Tier 1 - 3) Alerts.
Keeping the scope of the project in mind, we decided on three key stream graphic scenes which would allow for the brand to excell and become its own:
1. Intermission, we decided to produce two variants for this scene; one with a gameplay window and one which would allow for a full cam, uninterupted view, to allow for personal and connection with the viewer.
2. Intro/Outro, we produced a streamlined and modern intro and outro scene for the stream, one that allowed for stream interaction and personality. There was also space for HayZ to add a music audio spectrum effect for his music.
3. Gameplay, we wanted to keep the gameplay scene simple and to the point, not many frills or spills, one that kept the attention on HayZ and the gameplay.
